WHO’S THIS VOYAGE WOMAN

Langferð:  Icelandic for “long voyage”

Velkomin á bloggið mitt. Welcome to my blog about Iceland. Hæ, my name is Sophia and I am a 24-year-old German who got lost in Iceland. During my studies in German and English, I developed a great passion for writing. Ever since I set foot on the tiny island of Iceland for the first time, I became obsessed with taking pictures of this fascinating place. I created The Voyage Woman a while back when I was trying to find a way to express my passion for writing and photography. I am very passionate about writing about Iceland and hope this blog will soon turn into your #1 source for all things Icelandic.

WHY I WRITE ABOUT ICELAND

My inner “voyage woman” is as Icelandic as can be. I went on an epic voyage to Iceland at the age of 16 and am in love with the country, the people and the lifestyle ever since. At the age of 23 (spring 2013), I started “The Voyage Woman” as a way to share my strange obsession with Iceland and stop driving my friends and family nuts. I now spend my time writing articles and researching, including tips about the best destinations and attractions in Iceland. If there is something I am truly passionate about, it has to be that little island in the North. At the age of  24 (now) I have travelled to ; shot in; taught and written about Iceland excessively. Whenever I am in Iceland, I feel like I am home.
